Science Behind The Acoustic Glass

Acoustic glass consists of two or more sheets of glass, bonded together with one or more acoustic interlayers. Panes of acoustic glass are laminated with a layer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) which forms a strong hydrocarbon bond. Not only does this improve acoustic attenuation by reducing the elasticity of the glass, but it also adds an extra layer of noise reduction, weakening the sound as it travels through the glass.
